Notes: Aragona is a premium Italian vegetable tanned leather with an appearance of a leather that's been sitting inside an old barn for decades.  It looks like it would feel rough, but it's been ever-so-lightly buffed (i.e. sanded), so the grain is silky smooth.  It doesn't feel greasy or waxy at all, but it has some of the most dramatic pull-up I've ever seen.  And, it's actually relatively dry, which makes it very easy to glue and burnish. 

 

GRADING:

- Grade A - Great quality, very little to no flaws beside what is mentioned above.

- Grade B - Not-so-perfect - will have more noticeable range marks or scratches, broken grain, or slight color variation over a small portion of the panel.

Nice leather but looks darker red than in pictures

Rustic and refined

This stuff is awesome. Got a shoulder split down to 3oz for a workshop apron. Still has body, but should soften up with time. Completely smooth to the touch but still exhibits all the natural character of the leather. Great choice.

My favorite

Out of all the leather I've ever worked with, this is probably my favorite. It's versatile, unique, beautiful, and easy to burnish and skive.
