Tokonole is a water-based alternative to gum tragacanth, and it's popular with leatherworkers around the world. This is what District Leather uses for all of its edge work - including its "candy edges." This is the the same sturdy canvas that District Leather uses to produce its candy edges. Each order comes with three 4" x 6" cuts that are ideal for folding into thirds (the way District Leather uses them), or to use however you prefer.
Donning one of the best product names of all time, Columbus' "RUB-RUB" is an incredible little product with many uses. Here are just a few:
Remove dried edge paint off of grain leather
Remove excess glue seeping out from edges
Increase longevity of sandpaper and sanding belts by removing leather dust
CMC is water-based alternative to gum tragacanth, and it is popular in Japanese leather craft.
This tiny little container of powder is enough to make 4.5 liters of solution. Very easy to make - just follow the instructions on the label.
Japanese Satsuma Funori is used for burnishing edges. To prepare, slowly cook the funori in water until a thick, soupy consistency is achieved. It's best to make small batches at a time, store in an air tight container, refrigerate when not being used. Each packet contains two sheets.
