Temper, 1-10 Scale (1 = wet towel/ 10 = plywood): 7

Finish: Smooth

Recommended Uses: At 5oz great for Bags, Single Layer Watch Straps, Lanyards, Key Fobs. Split to 2-3oz, fantastic for wallet exteriors, interiors, and lining for larger goods

Notes: 100% vegetable tanned, firm-tempered, and the colors are very rich. Strongly resembles Walpier's Buttero with regard to its sheen and the slightly marbled look of the color.  However, it's not as dry as Buttero, which affords it some advantages for certain leather goods like bags/cases.

It burnishes very well, it's easy to hand sew and machine sew, it behaves very well with Aquilim water-based adhesives, the colors are solid and consistent. 

GRADING:

- Grade A - Great quality, very little to no flaws beside what is mentioned above.

- Grade B - Not-so-perfect - will have more noticeable range marks or scratches, broken grain, or slight color variation over a small portion of the panel.

Very happy with my Apollo

Had this split to 2/3 oz for wallets. Very easy to skive. Had a consistent color and very smooth texture to the surface. Like the description said, very easy to glue with aquilim, but be sure to really rough up the finished side to get good adhesion.

Ordered three double shoulders and had them split to 1.2 mm. They arrived today in great condition. They were very well packaged. The hides were clean and the splitting turned out very good. The shoulders were generous in size. Happy with my order.

Good for beginners

This is some great leather for beginners. Each to work with and the color is pretty accurate.
