Temper, 1-10 Scale (1 = wet towel/10 = plywood): 8

Finish: Smooth

Recommended Uses: Wallets, Bags, Small Goods

Notes: Firm tempered with a silky smooth grain side and a tight, clean flesh side.  It's stuffed with just the right amount enough fat and oil to give it a moderately dense consistency without feeling greasy or heavy.  It burnishes like a dream, which leads to some gorgeous edges because of it being struck through (i.e., there is full dye penetration of both grain and flesh). 

 

GRADING:

- Grade A - Great quality, very little to no flaws beside what is mentioned above.

- Grade B - Not-so-perfect - will have more noticeable range marks or scratches, broken grain, or slight color variation over a small portion of the panel.

Smooth and striking color

I’m not a royal blue fan typically but I found myself wanting to pair this with everything. It’s such an intense and true royal blue and the grain is super tight yet workable. Skives and sands like butter. I would say it’s a step above W&C bridle, considering the smoothness and the consistency in the grain. I had mine shaved down to 2.5oz for card holders and there is little to no distortion when skiving. Easily my new favorite leather, if you can’t tell.

Looks, smells, & works great

The color on this leather is 11 out of 10 - much better looking than even the pictures! It has a rich body to it and it is amazing to work with - burnishing the edges is a _dream_. I can't say enough good things about it.
