Description

Country of Origin: Italy

Weight: 4.0-4.5 oz

Tanning: Veg Tan

Temper: 1-10 Scale (1 = wet towel/ 10 = plywood): 6

Finish: Smooth, Matte

Recommended Uses: Bag, Small Goods, Sneakers

Notes - The tanning process used, “concia in fossa” or pit tanning, is a traditional method that places raw hides in several pits of tanning mixtures in order to gain its rich color and character. It is then stuffed with fats to achieve its unique softness and plush feel.

GRADING:

- Grade A - Great quality, very little to no flaws.

- Grade B - Not-so-perfect - will have more noticeable range marks or scratches, broken grain, or slight color variation over a small portion of the panel.

Please note: There may be a slight variation in color between the product photo and what you receive due to differences across dye lots and the natural characteristics of leather.

Project Perfect! Could not be happier!

I needed an excellent leather for a special wallet for my Father. I ordered a 2 oz panel, and a 4 oz panel. The leather skived like butter, took an edge burnish better that any veg-tan I have used before. Both panels were flawless. I will buy this again and look forward to other District Leather Supply offerings.

Amazing smell and soft feel!

This leather smells so good. By far one of the best smelling leather I've purchased. It has such a nice soft luxurious feel to it yet it's thick enough to hold up as a durable piece of high quality leather. I ordered a small sample of the B grade and had it split to a thin weight. (The B quality was honestly still really good!) It was harder to burnish being so thin but the results were still great. I used the thin split weight for the backside of a 5oz MPG Bourbon and man it came out great! Wish I could post a pic. I loved it so much I order a single shoulder at full weight. The full weight burnishes really nice! Although need to have a sharp beveler since the surface is on the soft side. I'm using this to make wallets and love it.
