Temper, 1-10 Scale (1 = wet towel/10 = plywood): 8

Finish: Smooth

Recommended Uses: Wallets, Bags, Small Goods

Notes: Firm tempered with a silky smooth grain side and a tight, clean flesh side.  It's stuffed with just the right amount enough fat and oil to give it a moderately dense consistency without feeling greasy or heavy.  It burnishes like a dream, which leads to some gorgeous edges because of it being struck through (i.e., there is full dye penetration of both grain and flesh). 

 

GRADING:

- Grade A - Great quality, very little to no flaws beside what is mentioned above.

- Grade B - Not-so-perfect - will have more noticeable range marks or scratches, broken grain, or slight color variation over a small portion of the panel. 

Please note: There may be a slight variation in color between the product photo and what you receive due to differences across dye lots and the natural characteristics of leather.

My new favorite material

Absolutely gorgeous leather. On the firmer side (think But****) but not as prone to scratching, marring, or blowout on the backside of punched stitch holes. Lovely near-matte surface with a hint of sheen. True to the description it burnishes like a champ. Best of all is the color—the Violet is a slightly lighter and milkier shade of purple than the other options out there. A subtle difference, but definitely unique.
