Silver Vinymo MBT Thread

While the thread is great I feel the color is a bit dark and isn’t quite as yellow as it should be.

Used the size #3 thread while hand-stitching with a 4mm diamond chisel. I used both gold and silver to see how they turned out. Both had a nice metallic shine without looking cheap. There was a concern that it would detract from the fine leather goods we craft...but it only enhanced the look. I did not add any wax to the thread and it pulled nice and easy. There was some fraying for the first inch from the needle by the end of the long stitch, but that gets discarded either way. I do not think this is suitable for all applications, but for the right project, it is the perfect pairing. The local Fine Leather Crafters Guild was all impressed with the look of the wallet and the unwashed masses (non-leathercrafters) also liked the results.

I typically like to use 0,8mm thread with my 4mm spacing...this is a little thinner, but still resulted in a great look for my wallet. If you are on the fence, give it a try. The price for the 60 meter spool is very reasonable. Next project will be a black leather and gold stitching to stamp "Aints" on it and send to saints fans for a laugh. Saints win one superbowl and everyone claims they were always fans. I remember the 90's...nobody was a fan back then. Stop playin'!

I sewed this gold color by hand on black leather and it came out very rich, just wish they made it on No. 5, a little thicker would have looked even better, but still very happy, Go District Leather!!!

Absolutely LOVE this thread! I hand stitch & have always used Ritza thread in the past . This stuff is just wonderful! It is easy to sew with & looks stunning. I highly recommend this thead!

Yep. This is metallic gold thread. It is bright and brilliant, yet doesnt look tinsel or plastic. The gold color doesn't look like yellow. There is a luster and goldyness that really shines through.
