Description
Vinymo MBT is a unique, bonded, non-lubricated thread for leather working that works very well for both hand sewing and machine sewing. It's sexy-twisty and it stays that way because the strands are tightly wound and internally bonded. The thread pulls through the leather extremely smoothly and results in a strong stitch without requiring waxing (though, a light coat of wax is recommended) prior to hand stitching.

Size 8: Comparable to machine thread size 92
Size 5: Slightly thicker than machine thread size 138
Size 1: Slightly thinner than machine thread size 207
Size 0: Comparable to machine thread size 277

The thread ended up being too large for what I was doing, but no doubt it’s great quality thread and district is a good supplier of it in the smaller spools (good prices too).
I usually use C lon Tex 400 which is advertised as .9mm. I ordered the #0 thread on here that is advertised as 1mm and it isn’t as thick. I know the composition of the two are different but size shouldn’t be that much off, especially since ones either smaller than advertised or ones larger….. just a thought if your trying to replace tex400 with this as I was.
I was looking for an alternative to Ritza Tiger and came across another maker using Vinymo on Instagram. I gave it a shot using neutral colors and have been extremely happy. Vinymo has three to four times the colors as Ritza and the weave and the twist looks great. It has enough of a shine to stand out in light, and the last stitch looks as good as the first. Vinymo is now my first choice.
Product was exactly as described and really easy to work with.
This product was exactly what I needed to hand stitch the soles of a custom pair of sneakers.
